Staff with Community Development Department in the City of Roseburg, say they are receiving numerous inquiries regarding campaign signs that are placed in the public right-of-way.
Placement of campaign signs or advertising signs in the public right-of-way is prohibited. The city will start the process of removing signs that have been placed in violation. That may include signs that are on street corners and on utility poles.
A press release from the department says that when placing signs, you must be sure to have the property owner’s permission and have knowledge of where the property lines are located to make sure that the signs are being placed on private property.
Confiscated signs may be retrieved by calling the department at 492-6730.
