Mercy Medical Center is now under the brand CHI Mercy Health.
Kathleen Nickel of Mercy says the new name is now being used to emphasize the connection with one of the nationÕs largest nonprofit health systems. CHI stands for Catholic Health Initiatives, a Colorado based network that includes 93 hospitals, hundreds of outpatient clinics and assisted living facilities in 18 states. Nickel says that other health networks around the country are now starting to use the CHI name and symbol.
Along with the name change, Mercy is also adopting a new guiding star logo and a new theme line which is ÒImagine Better HealthÓ.
Kathleen Nickel says that changes to MercyÕs building signage will take place over the next few years.
Nickel says the new brand incorporates MercyÕs connections to a much larger network of CHI hospitals while maintaining strong ties to the founding sisters, known as ÔThe Sisters of MercyÓ.
CHI Mercy Health includes Mercy Medical Center, Mercy Foundation, AIM ÊTherapies, Home Health and Hospice, Sleep Lab, Outpatient Imaging, Outpatient Lab, Shaw Heart and Vascular Center and Linus Oakes.
